  • 22:33 Getting to try out Word 2007 for the first time. Wordcount is great. But quite a lot of it is rather odd. I'm glad I have 97 on cd! #
  • 22:34 Last night I baked 21 mince pies for dinner. There are now three left. Pie, strange as it may seem, is a rare delicacy in Germany! #
  • 00:21 @jst5150 Yeah, I like how Word07 counts words as you go. Very useful for a writer. File handling is nice. Some options are tough to find. #
  • 00:22 @nzlemming I've repeatedly tried to use OO and it's scared me off every time! Guess I'm too set in my ways for even a little learning curve. #
  • 00:23 Booking trains. Making appointments. Reading forums. Working a translation. Eating lunch. Yes, all at the same time. Sort of. #
  • 05:49 Finished a long and painful technical translation, wow, feel the freedom! Thinking about dinner, messing with a guitar, uploading some pics. #

  • 08:21 Had a busy day about town today. Saw a lot of old friends. Bought some stuff. Took pictures. The usual tourist stuff. #
  • 08:22 I happened to tell my employer where I was going for a haircut. The secretaries were sent after me later to ask about an urgent translation! #
  • 08:25 So now I have a lot of work to do and only two days to do it in. Plus a breakfast date and two dinners, and I haven't visited my cats! Sob. #
  • 08:27 I know the cats are doing well, and maybe it'd just be sad to visit and have to leave them again. Especially if they don't know me any more. #
  • 08:28 @S uzInIL Use Firefox with the add-on called Ad Blocker Plus. Simple as that to get internet without ads! #

  • 10:48 Went to my fave shoe shop and got 2 pairs. Left my old ones in the bin at the mall, they were done for. All that stamping about in France! #

  • 11:02 Laughing myself silly watching Shaun the Sheep with friends. Why have I never seen this before now? It's so healthy to laugh till I cry... #
  • 03:20 What's the big deal with complaints about Facebook changes? I can't see any difference at all. #
  • 03:54 Going to go out window-shopping in some of my old haunts with old friends. It's a funny thing to come back to a place I lived so long. #
  • 03:55 @SuzInIL No, from a computer, same as always. Weird. Only thing is that my browser blocks all the ads. I prefer it that way :) #
  • 05:41 I uploaded a YouTube video -- France 2009 bit.ly/xf5lE #

  • 03:47 Been wrestling with my computer all day to finish @frederation's book cover. All's well as ends well - the thing's done. At my end at least. #
  • 03:48 twitpic.com/m8spa - Final book cover for The Muse, now only awaiting graphics processing. Look ok to you @frederation? #
  • 03:49 twitpic.com/m8spa - forgot to say, the margins won't be that big on the book. That's just so it prints neatly. #
  • 04:58 tinyurl.com/yz3aezo - As good a summary of NZ's (next?) referendum as you'll ever see. I agree, except for the part about leaving! #

  • 08:58 Just finished up a batch of edits for The Muse. That's gotta be the last of them - please, God! Now moving on to finish cover touch-ups :) #
  • 23:00 Interview with Lost Genre Guild member Rick Copple, writer of fantasy and sci-fi, blog.lostgenreguild.com #
  • 23:38 I'm in a quandary whether to make this book's back cover text white or pale blue. Cover has graphic elements of both colours on a black BG. #
  • 23:39 ...or something else entirely? What do you think? #
  • 03:41 Been out around town visiting employers, past and present. Can't believe it's been eight years sinc e my stint in the Turkish deli. #
  • 05:53 @ChristnBookVids Have you got bit.ly/2LlpU8 and bit.ly/sIEcs (Nov release) ? #

  • 22:14 Back in Regensburg, the town where I spent most of my adult life. A weird sensation. I have to remember I don't live here any more! #
  • 22:15 I'm working on translations today and will try and catch up with a few friends later on. It's very cold - the plane landed in a snowstorm! #
  • 22:16 At least I brought my Barry's Tea from Ireland, a good strong brew. Germans don't really do tea - at least, not as potent as I like it! #

  • 02:13 Dublin is a very intuitive city once you get a few bearings. I'm finding everything without needing a map! and free wifi in the street! #
  • 02:31 twitpic.com/lhly1 - St. Stephen's Green shopping centre, Dublin. Rather evocative of a tropical steamboat, don't you think? #

  • 09:28 Spent the day in Balbriggan with Andrea and Anne, now staying overnight in my old room that I had for 4 months last year - funny to be back! #
  • 09:29 Walked on the beach and climbed some rocks in a howling sunshine-and-wind combination I've only ever encountered right here north of Dublin. #
  • 09:31 We picked wild blackberries in the lane near the houses, ate well (a real salad! yay!) and are talking lots of French :) Balbriggan rocks! #
  • 09:37 @vavroom 4 more weeks and I'll be back. A firm believer in doing things properly! Hate flying, so if I'm already over here, well, you know! #
